The iconic English brand CLARKS, founded in 1825, has partnered with renowned American designer Salehe BEMBURY to reinvent their traditional "Lugger" models.
The creative mind, with a successful background at COLE HAAN, YEEZY, and VERSACE, introduces a new silhouette to the closed and laced-up model, adding innovative details that give a unique visual appeal to the design. Inspired by the classic '80s "Lugger" and '60s Wallabee, the uppers are crafted with smooth suede on the sides and a "destroyed" or "hairy" texture on the vamp. This novel material with a strong texture is currently on-trend. On the other hand, the lacing is asymmetrical, positioned on one side of the shoe, while the main handcrafted stitching remains. The irregular patterns printed on the vamp in contrasting colors add another distinctive touch to the models.
The sole consists of a classic crepe cupsole, characteristic of CLARKS Originals, while the interior features a comfortable cork insole.
The initial models from the collection were presented in burnt orange, sage green, lichen gray, and toasted brown colors.
