The growth of sneaker fashion and in particular the trend for “ugly sneakers” has triggered off a series of new models of different brands and designers.
The tendency, in its beginnings was led by BALENCIAGA, who, in the hands of its star designer Demna Gvasalía, gave birth to the famous “Triple S”, which despite the initial rejection, ended up imposing themselves and promising high demand consumption.
Within this trend, NIKE is now added, with its new M2K Tekno model developed by its designer Jin Hong.
The most outstanding features of these “ugly” sneakers are the largest volume of last and soles, with abundant side moldings, often with color combinations. The style plays with retro and disruptive concepts, reminiscent of old sneakers from our ancestors.
