Salehe Bembury’s innovative “perforated” soles

Salehe Bembury is an American designer recognized as one of the most influential figures in contemporary footwear aesthetics. His professional background includes collaborations with major brands such as Versace, Yeezy, Crocs, New Balance and Cole Haan.

He recently introduced, with notable success, the new SPUNGE Osmosis sneaker, distinguished by its exclusive sole, patented under the name Squish Tech technology.

The system consists of an expanded EVA foam midsole encased within an external TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) structure, whose defining feature is the presence of perforations across its surface.

The sneaker delivers enhanced performance and lifestyle for training, running and urban use.

The softness of the midsole foam provides good cushioning, while the TPU shell adds support, durability and stability. In addition, it enables responsive cushioning, preventing excessive compression without becoming overly soft, unlike other competing foams.
