Fall-Winter 2018 Materials

Natural and decorative textures

Technology for higher aesthetic quality

In the leather offer, two very different currents coexist. On the one hand, the smooth surfaces, generally mono-colored, very soft and flexible, where opaque finishes - suede and nubuck -, semi-lucid -napa leather and floaters- and bright -patent leather- alternate. The metallic ones of intense use are added, that go from the most tenuous to the brightest, like the mirrored finishes. The other trend includes more elaborate leathers, with greater technological and artisanal contribution, where more prominent textures appear, with more colors and especially with a greater aesthetic added value. In this case, the processes are more complex, but they yield very innovative results.

Natural and decorative textures

Within the engraved surfaces, reptiles are always a source of inspiration for numerous variants. Sober and small scales are presented, as lizards and vipers, and those with large scales such as crocodiles and pythons. Its finishes are usually bright and opaque, giving place to very original versions in two or more colors, in contrapositions of lights and shadows.
Another way to stimulate the tactile interest of the materials is the textures and embossing with floral and retro themes, in addition to the geometric and decorative - striped, diamond tip, grid, etc-.
Overlays of patterns of different motifs with textures that significantly enrich the visual of the materials are often used.

Fashion requirement: glitters and elegance

In synthetic materials, the physical and aesthetic possibilities are expanded according to the supplies used that open alternatives to new developments. Most of the trend is made up of bright finishes, with varying degrees of luminosity, which includes soft metallic pulverize and elaborated, as the case of glitters, lurex and strass.
Everything converges towards obtaining elegant and luxurious materials, which give hierarchy and highlight the final products.
The very diverse and colorful themes begin with traditional prints - floral, vegetal, old motifs - go through geometric and decorative designs until they reach abstract and suggestive figures, often with three-dimensional effects.

Textiles: expand their offer

Of the hand of the technology and a greater creative contribution, the textiles have obtained a high degree of participation in the footwear and manufactures elaboration. The offer is very diversified, attractive and voluminous.
In general, the trend indicates the preference for good thickness, handmade and good coat conditions materials. Here the old cloths, such as tartan, tweeds, Pied de Poule, Prince of Wales, lead the preferences, followed by velvets - smooth and prints -, embroidery, corduroy and jacquards.
Designs include diverse motifs, but there is a tendency towards oriental aesthetics. Wild furs and skins in different colors and finishes will be very required to denote warmth and naturalness in winter models.
