BUESTÁN shifts production and invests in technology
Under the leadership of its general manager, Diana Buestán, the footwear factory -now over 51 years old- has made a shift in its industrial policy, adapting to current market conditions, where competition from Asian footwear is fierce. As a result, 80% of its current production focuses on industrial safety footwear, catering to public sector procurement and major companies in the oil, military, and construction industries. In 2023, BUESTÁN produced 70,000 pairs, and for this year, it aims to increase production by 50%, reaching 110,000 pairs. At its 2,500 m² plant in Carcelén, north of Quito, the company employs 100 people and continuously invests in technology.
