He was recently awarded by the business newspaper Portafolio de Colombia, the co-founder and president of CUEROS VÉLEZ, Juan Raúl Vélez, with the “Business Life” award.
When referring to his company, he said that it is made up of tannery, factory and 330 own stores, of which 270 are in Colombia and the remaining in Peru, Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Mexico. His next step is Europe, where he plans to install a first point of sales in Spain.
At present, the company has almost 5,000 direct employees, among operators, stores and administration, with an annual production of 4 million pieces. Turnover in 2018 was around US $ 130 million.
