To reduce waste generation and carbon footprint, the leading international brand is presenting its new “Move to Zero” circularity program, among which the recently launched NIKE REFURBISHED stands out.
For now, it is being rolled out in 15 US retail stores, but there are plans to expand it to other regions of the world.
The process is simple. Sneakers returned by consumers for manufacturing defects or aesthetic motifs, within 60 days of purchase, will be refurbished by the retail team and resold off the shelves. For this, recycled materials NIKE GRIND will be used. This initiative tends to further extend the shelf life of products.
At their reception they will be inspected and after their recovery they will be properly disinfected.
If a shoe is still in good condition for resale, it will be assigned one of three classifications including: "Like New", "Gently Worn" or "Cosmetically Flawed". The prices for clients will be according to the chosen category.
Within the new program, NIKE contemplates that if these "rescued" footwear still do not satisfy the use of its customers, they can be returned again within a period of no more than 60 days after purchase.
