GUANTE of Chile closed its last manufacturing plant

In mid-March, the emblematic Chilean footwear brand announced the closure of its plant in Santiago, leaving 283 operators without their jobs. The action was taken - according to its owners - because of the impossibility of competing with imported products. The firm will continue as an importer and marketer in the different stores that it has in several Latin American countries. www.guante.cl
