One of Peru's largest footwear and accessories retail chains recently opened a new sales point at the Plaza Norte mall in Lima, adding to a network of over 80 stores spread across the country's main provinces.
PLATANITOS was founded 31 years ago by Lourdes Wong, daughter of a Chinese immigrant. Currently, the company sells 350 footwear brands (approximately 4 million pairs annually), including some of the most internationally renowned ones. Almost the entire product range originates from Asia.
Online sales constitute a significant portion of its business, while its virtual platform "Resikla" remains active. "Resikla" promotes the buying and selling of second-hand products with the aim of circulating them for sustainable use and reducing the environmental impact that waste can have.
