TOPPER Argentina seeks partner or buyer
The historic sports clothing and footwear brand, through a consultancy firm, continues in negotiations with possible candidates in order to carry out the operation. TOPPER is an Argentine brand, founded in 1975 by the ALPARGATAS textile group, which after passing through the Camargo Correa holding company in Brazil, was left in the hands of the SFORZA group, owned by the Brazilian businessman Carlos Wizard Martins, who acquired it in 2019 by US $64 million.
Its main industrial plant is located in Aguilares, Tucumán, where significant investments have been made in technology and personnel to increase production capacity. According to its managers, "it is a good time for sports brand companies with local production in general, because the business has been favored by the closure of imports."
