Vegan leather is produced with organic waste

Sandals made with new materials that allow the use of waste that is usually discarded.

The Israeli company NOVA MILÁN has developed its own technology that makes it possible to transform organic waste from pineapple, coconut, banana, cassava and others, into bioplastic materials, sustainable fabrics and high-quality vegan leather, to replace animal leather and the environmental damage caused by its production.

Recently, the transformer company, in collaboration with the Israeli footwear brand NAOT FOOTWEAR, presented the first collection of sandals made with vegan leather at Kornit Fashion Week in Los Angeles/USA, with a singular success.

The founders of the company, Irma Orenstein and Karim Quazzani, expressed that “we are very proud of the work done and our goal is to put Costa Rica on the map as a world leader in plant-based leather. In addition to the fashion industry, we will expand our business to sectors such as automotive, furniture, medical and nautical”.
