DESSERTO is the brand of alternative material to leather that is manufactured with cactus from the Zacatecas region, Mexico. The process begins with the cutting of the mature leaves of the plants, they are cleaned, crushed and then left to dry for three days in the sun.
Subsequently, the material obtained is mixed with chemical substances, non-toxic, or phthalates and PVC, to immediately laminate the different batches.
The products obtained are elastic, flexible and breathable, being used for the manufacture of footwear, manufactures, furniture and automotive upholstery.
According to what was expressed by its creators, Adrián López and Marte Cázarez, a biodegradable material has been achieved, free from cruel animal practices and chemicals that damage the environment.
