Will SPRING STEP disappear?
The emblematic footwear retail chain SPRING STEP, founded in the 1950s by Raúl Valbuena, which once had 300 stores across the country and 2,000 employees, is going through its worst moment. Since 2015, it began its decline under the management of new heirs, negative financial results, market crises, and changes in consumer habits, where formal footwear gave way to branded sports products. These are some of the causes of the collapse. To clear its debts, some stores were handed over to other companies, with the last 8 going to the Gzinco group, which has a few months to prevent its liquidation.
