The supply chain of hides and skins will gather once again at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in the Pudong district. The ALL CHINA LEATHER EXHIBITION (ACLE) will occupy eight pavilions spanning 92,000 square meters, featuring a national and international array of hides, leather, supplies, materials, components, and machinery.
The fair is organized by APLF Ltd. and the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), a national and global reference in the leather sector. For foreign companies, it serves as a point of contact with local buyers, while Chinese exhibitors focus on the domestic market that produces leather for footwear, automotive upholstery, and leather goods sectors.
In the upcoming September edition, ACLE will face the challenge of reviving the leather and manufactured good industry. In recent years, international trade has been impacted by various global issues, starting with the health crisis that influenced production activity, trade, and consumption.
Subsequently, inflation and energy costs have risen significantly due to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, added later to the attacks on transportation in the Red Sea and the offensive in the Middle East.
Nevertheless, despite being suspended in 2020, 2021, and 2022, the 2023 edition had a positive performance in terms of visitors, with growth of around 20% (28,300 attendees).
