ANPIC was confirmed as an international supplier event

The in-person fair in León, Guanajuato / Mexico, generated new expectations among its participants.


RECONNECTION was the slogan with which ANPIC returned to the market to restart its relations with the industry.

The 58th edition of the traditional exhibition of national and international suppliers that was held at the León Poliforum on October 20, 21 and 22, 2021, brought together 750 exhibitors who received about 8 thousand local and foreign visitors.

Among the buyers, those from the different states of the country stood out, where there are poles dedicated to manufacturing, while visitors from 17 countries arrived from abroad, including the United States, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, El Salvador. , Dominican Republic, Spain and Italy.

This event marked the reactivation of the supply sector for fashion, leather goods and the leather-footwear sector and represented a return to face-to-face exhibitions and conferences, after the closure due to the pandemic.

“Given the panorama that we have experienced due to the pandemic, in the organizing committee of ANPIC we came to the conclusion that the fair should be kept in person and that it is not the time to take a step back, that is why we named this edition 'ANPIC Reconnection ', because we want to re-establish relationships with producers, manufacturers and buyers ”, said David Novoa, president of APIMEX -organizing entity-, in his opening address.

The exhibition offer was made up of hides and skins; synthetic materials and textiles; components and accessories; lasts, heels and soles; machines and equipment; all oriented to the next Autumn-Winter 2022/23 season.

Among the main visitors were shoe manufacturers; manufacturers and distributors of footwear supplies; designers and technicians; manufacturers of leather goods; footwear marketers; tanners; machinery distributors; of the automotive sector and furniture manufacturers.

The fair activity was complemented by various conferences on fashion, industrial outlook and economic statistics related to the manufacturing segment, while on the second night the traditional ANPIC Cocktail was resumed. A space that included fashion films with the participation of local creatives and fashion catwalks by renowned Mexican designers and brands.

Formation of exhibitors

As usual, in addition to bringing together the most prominent national companies, ANPIC also had the presence of important international companies and brands from Latin America, Europe and the East.

Among the local exhibitors, ROBERTO NOVOA, GUVELCO, SCALLINI, SUELAS ITALIA, POLÍMEROS, GRUPO SOLDER, DECORPLAST, HORMAS EL ARBOL, WYNY, CURTIDOS BENGALA, CONCURMEX, and LE FARC stood out. Among the international ones were WINTECH and MAIN GROUP (technology from Italy), along with a large Brazilian delegation of suppliers of materials, components and machinery -ASSINTECAL- and leather and leather -CICB-.

There were also companies of foreign origin with local headquarters such as EUROCOMPO, SAMEC, TSM FONDI, FORESTALI, QUINORGAN and MIBOR, among others.

Good expectations from Brazil

Through special spaces and collective stands, the Brazilian supplier had an outstanding participation in ANPIC with a wide assortment of materials, components, accessories and machinery, coordinated by ASSINTECAL; and hides and skins by CICB -Centro de Industrias de Curtiembres de Brasil-.

In both cases, the forecasts are encouraging, given the current business volumes and the future projected by the growth in the sales of finished products from Mexico to the United States. As a reference, ASSINTECAL pointed out that so far in 2021, Mexico purchased materials and components for US $ 10.5 million, which represented an increase of 35% compared to acquisitions in the same period of 2020.
