ANPIC: with greater diversity of international buyers

The fair had 13% more visiting countries, compared to May last year.

The 53rd edition of the Mexican supply fair -ANPIC- was held between May 22 and 24, 2019, at the Poliforum León exhibition center in Guanajuato. About 900 brands represented by 280 companies were part of the event.

The proposals for Spring/Summer included Skins and Leather; Textiles and Synthetics; Accessories, Components and Ironwork; Chemists; Heels, Lasts and Soles; and Machinery, among other items. In addition, 32 firms participated in the multi-supply and tannery pavilions.

Thus, in the 765 stands products for the leather-footwear, textile, leathergoods, clothing, automotive and furniture industries were exhibited.

The presence of 40 SME exhibitors was promoted by the Secretariat of Sustainable Economic Development of the Government of Guanajuato, in order to promote new businesses for these companies.

International concurrence and business

On the other hand, 9,868 visitors attended the show, with an international profile marked by the presence of 27 countries, such as the United States, Canada, Colombia, Spain, China and Italy, among those with the highest participation. The United Kingdom, Australia and Singapore also had representatives at the fair and in total, 13% more visitor nations were registered, compared to the same edition of 2018.

In this context, business was carried out for around US$ 28 million, as detailed by the Association of Industrial Suppliers of Mexico (APIMEX) -organizer of the event-.

Complementary programming

Among the activities that spined around the exhibition, various talks of various themes were carried out, such as the magna lecture "The human talent the key to the future", "Technology in the footwear industry", "An exciting transformation called 4.0 ”,“ Fashion trends Spring/Summer 2020 ”, among others.

In addition, the first version of the B2B Business Meeting organized by APIMEX, together with COFOCE (Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade) and INDEX was attended by 19 purchasing firms, which held 186 business meetings with various suppliers.

On the second day of ANPIC, the FASHION COCKTAIL Runway was held, where the new footwear proposed by José Ángel Abraham Aranda were exhibited, while the designer Ángel Grave was accompanied by Patey Woman footwear and Leather Work Shop bags . In turn, the leather clothing was presented by Atrio Leather.

New agreements

In order to promote the Guanajuato supply sector, an agreement was signed between APIMEX, the Secretariat of Sustainable Economic Development of Guanajuato and the Municipality of León.

In addition, an agreement was signed with INDEX, where both entities will work collaboratively on the competitiveness of companies in various industries, including footwear, leather and leather goods.

October edition

The next ANPIC will take place on Wednesday 23, Thursday 24 and Friday 25 October, 2019, in the Poliforum of León, Guanajuato, Mexico, where the Fall/Winter 2020 trends will be presented. Previously, the Association of Industrial Suppliers of Mexico (APIMEX), will celebrate its 40th anniversary in September.
