The 38th edition of the supplier fair was a reflection of the market situation. Before the event began, there was uncertainty and weak projections due to a slowed demand for hides and skins and low prices.
In this context, APLF celebrated its 40th anniversary and its return to Hong Kong after five years. There was a good flow of visitors on the first day of the fair, which provided reassurance to the exhibitors.
Although attendance decreased in the following days, “there was satisfaction among the exhibiting companies and visitors,” reported APLF.
APLF LEATHER was complemented by MATERIALS+ and FASHION ACCESS, though this year saw a restructuring of the exhibition space.
In this edition, the hides and skins segment was located on Level 3 of the event center, benefiting from a larger space. Consequently, the other two exhibitions moved to Level 1.
The two halls dedicated to the exhibition of hides and skins were occupied by around 500 exhibitors out of approximately 740 participating companies.
The layout of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre also featured 18 national pavilions from tanning countries such as Brazil, Mexico, the United States, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Türkiye, Pakistan, India, Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, and Australia.
Attendance was around 12,000 people, from both local and international markets, including the United States, Italy, Türkiye, India, China, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan. In total, 73 regions and countries were represented.
In 2025, the fair will be held from Wednesday, March 12th to Friday, March 14th in Hong Kong.
