ARGENTINA: waiting for face-to-face fairs

Attentive to the epidemiological situation, its organizers await better sanitary conditions to plan their events.


​The need to return to physical fairs is essential for the Argentine footwear industry.

​EFICA

The Chamber of the Footwear Industry (CIC) of Buenos Aires announced that the face-to-face footwear and leather goods fair -EFICA- will continue to be suspended until the health situation in the country improves due to Covid-19.

To make up for the absence, in June EFICA ONLINE was relaunched, the virtual tool that will remain active throughout the year and that brings together footwear and leather goods manufacturers, traders, suppliers and service firms related to the industrial sector.

Thus, exhibitors have the option of managing their own virtual stand, such as changing their image and information, adding or eliminating products, and carrying out promotions and launches. The platform also offers the possibility of redirecting the user to the exhibiting company's website, while the exhibiting company can manage shipments locally and internationally and coordinate meetings.

EFICA ONLINE includes statistical reports with data referring to the number and segments of visitors and schedules, among other information. The stand is free for members of the entity.

At the communicational level, the new account on Instagram was launched: @EficaCalzado, with the aim of promoting companies and the Virtual Footwear Exhibition, in addition to the publication of reports and statements.

​EXICAL

The novelties in footwear, leather goods, materials and components are presented in the new EXICAL DIGITAL edition.
In this way, the virtual format continues, until there are conditions for its realization in person.

The platform is a meeting point to establish business and contacts between manufacturers and national buyers, plus those who join from abroad. The fair will remain in effect until the end of the season. In addition, for many exhibiting companies it will represent an opportunity for them to make a transformation towards digital and thus access greater sales possibilities.

EXICAL DIGITAL is offered as a valuable option in the framework of a difficult reality, crossed by restrictions on activities and circulation, product of the second wave of the pandemic.

Both the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of Córdoba, as well as the Chamber of the Footwear and Related Industry of the Province of Santa Fe -organizers of the event- make available to their members an effective contact tool, as a sales alternative and for maintain continuity in the market.

EXPOCAIPIC

The Argentine Chamber of Industrial Suppliers of the Footwear Industry (CAIPIC) -organizer of EXPOCAIPIC- closely follows the development of the epidemiological situation in the country, in order to schedule eventual fairs and presentations for its members, as a contribution to the recovery of the sector, which in times of pandemic is severely affected.

In the field of the chamber, the possibility of holding an event in the next month of October 2021 is evaluated, although everything will depend on the degree of impact of the health crisis. The possibility of returning to the Costa Salguero premises or another alternative within Buenos Aires is being analyzed.

During the period of absence of face-to-face fairs, CAIPIC launched EXPOCAIPIC VIRTUAL in 2020, which took place between November 10th and 12th with the presentation of trends for Autumn/Winter 2021. It was a dynamic and accessible exhibition, which was visited by businessmen and industrialists from Argentina and abroad.

According to the opinions of participants, due to the type of content, materials and components that this fair presents, it was confirmed that face-to-face is an essential factor in these events.
