Argentine fairs: digital and awaiting the face-to-face ones

Footwear, leather goods and suppliers, waiting for the improvement of sanitary conditions to plan events physically.

From the Chamber of the Footwear Industry (CIC) of Buenos Aires they assured that EFICA DIGITAL, which currently promotes the Autumn/Winter 2021 season, has exceeded expectations in terms of its impact.

As a consequence of the pandemic, the fair sped up its path towards digitization, to keep the offer of Argentine footwear visible.

A significant number of member companies of the entity are present in the new digital platform, easy to use and access.

The exhibitors adapted to the new means to launch their collections and display the products, which allow them to obtain local and international contacts.

From CIC, a tool accessible in its use and with dynamics was created, compatible with the demand of producers and buyers. The virtual fair brings together footwear, clothing, leather goods companies, suppliers, retailers and services, together with MABYN -Argentine Fashion for Babies and Children-.

In the future, the CIC intends to reposition EFICA through its traditional live format, a possibility that it is developing to carry out shortly, considering the evolution of the health emergency.

For this, places and spaces with authorization within the city of Buenos Aires and its surroundings are being evaluated, which allow the realization of a safe event, under protocols.

Meanwhile, the virtual proposal will remain active, as an option for visitors in the face of availability or distance difficulties that the physical fair may present.

Footwear, Leather Goods and Suppliers

From the Chambers of the Footwear Industry of the provinces of Córdoba and Santa Fe, organizers of the traditional physical EXICAL exhibition that took place in the city of Córdoba, reported that next July will be the relaunch of EXICAL DIGITAL, a renewed virtual platform that it will include the proposals for footwear, leather goods and accessories for the Spring/Summer 2021-2022 season. The offer will be made up of more than 100 exhibitors and brands with more than 5,000 products.

The Footwear Exhibition of the Central Region will allow to know the latest fashion trends in footwear and make contacts, through a tour of the exhibitors' stands, with the possibility of filtering searches according to the interest of visitors. Through interconnectivity, buyers will be able to know the different catalogs of the exhibitors and generate inquiries regarding prices and characteristics of the products exhibited.

Until the conditions for the physical fair are in place, EXICAL DIGITAL will continue to be a fashion and business area for the local and international market, which remains “open” every day of the year.

The fair organized by CAIPIC, the Argentine Chamber of Suppliers, aimed at the footwear, manufactures and clothing industry, which was usually held in person at the Costa Salguero premises in Buenos Aires, also suffered the consequences of the global health crisis and had to suspend its physical events.

Like other trade fairs, a virtual edition was launched last November 2020, with the intention of maintaining the presence of the Argentine suppliers within the local market and also in the region, where EXPOCAIPIC is recognized in neighboring countries, and is visited by interested parties from Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Europe.

Attentive to the development of the health situation, the supplier's entity is working intensely in the event of a possible resumption of fair activities, and thus scheduling its next physical event.

Different alternatives of spaces are considered that are adapted to the reality and needs of the sector, on a date to be defined.
