From November 11 to 13, 2024, the third edition of BFSHOW successfully took place at the new Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo, attracting over 10,400 buyers, doubling the attendance recorded in November 2023. The fair gathered 330 exhibiting brands and hosted 160 importers from 32 countries, along with 478 Brazilian buyers representing 290 retail groups that operate more than 3,000 stores across the country. All participants were selected through a joint effort by Abicalçados, ApexBrasil and NürnbergMesse Brasil.
One of the fair's highlights was the Sustainability Arena, an exhibition showcasing products from ten companies certified under the Origem Sustentável program. These companies presented certified production practices that include the use of recycled materials, renewable energy, and reduced water consumption. This approach underscored the footwear sector's commitment to sustainable development.
Companies such as Di Valentini and Killana described BFSHOW as a strategic platform for business. José Osterno Filho, director of Di Valentini, stated: “We gained new clients in both domestic and international markets, including Algeria, Argentina, Bolivia, and Guatemala.” Marcos Huff, director of Killana, added that the fair is “in the right place at the right time, with efficient logistics and a clear business focus.” He also highlighted connections established with Latin America, North America, and Europe.
Abicalçados Executive President -Haroldo Ferreira- highlighted that the event reflected the growth in footwear consumption in Brazil, which increased by more than 9% between January and August 2024. This positive context drove the search for new products for the upcoming season and quick-delivery items. Ferreira noted: “In three days, we brought together the country’s leading brands and buyers from over 32 countries, achieving significant business agreements.”
Brazil’s footwear production for 2024 is projected at over 890 million pairs, with a 2% increase expected in 2025, reaching pre-pandemic levels.
The next BFSHOW is already scheduled to take place from May 19 to 21, 2025, at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo. According to organizers, a 20% increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors is anticipated, further consolidating the fair’s position as a key event for Brazil’s footwear industry.
