The International Footwear, Leather Goods and Fashion Accessories Fair held its 49th edition between January 16th and 18th, 2023, at the Expo Center Norte exhibition center in São Paulo.
The organization of the event reported that "thousands of traders" were part of COUROMODA, and in which "hundreds of brands" participated. The exhibitors presented future trends for winter and immediate delivery in high summer, with proposals in footwear for men, women, children and sports shoes, in addition to clothing and accessories.
Among the attendance, buyers of various origins also stood out. In this sense, the COUROMODA International Buyers Project achieved the presence of importers from 17 countries, who represented 41 groups of footwear and accessories retailers, according to the official report.
As a balance of the three days of exhibition, Jeferson Santos -general director of COUROMODA- stated: “Many exhibitors confirmed that sales were satisfactory, in some cases even above expectations. And the prospects for the coming months are positive for the complement of the negotiations started at the fair”.
Within the framework of the inauguration of the recent version of the fair, the promoters made an announcement about the novelties for next year.
Thus, the exhibition will carry out its 50th edition, under the new name of COUROMODA LATIN AMERICA. The brand new format will take place between Monday 22nd, Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th January 2024 in São Paulo, with the presentation of proposals in footwear, clothing and accessories and focused on the regional market.
In this regard, COUROMODA will continue to invite Brazilian companies to participate in the fair, but the call will also be extended to other brands and manufacturers, mainly from Latin America, and from other international markets.
The same is expected for buyers, mainly focused on Latin America, and with expectations of capturing the interest of visitors from around the world, according to what was reported on its website.
The date also takes into account the Brazilian market, with the aim that traders can replenish stocks or carry out purchases corresponding to the first three months of the year.
Given the news, Francisco Santos -COUROMODA president-, assured: “The GDP of Latin America, made up of 20 countries, exceeds R$ 25 trillion, with an estimated population of 569 million people. That is the potential market we are talking about”.
