As the health situation caused by Covid-19 lowers its levels of contagion, the footwear sector begins to walk the path towards normality and recovery.
Although the evolution of this item is linked to macro aspects of politics and the economy, gradually positive conditions are being generated for its development. The industrial activity index, according to data from CAME, shows sustained growth in recent months, confirmed by the January-July 2021 period, where an increase of 30.9% was recorded compared to the same period in 2020.
Regarding retail footwear sales, from January to August 2021 they increased 30.5% compared to the same period of the previous year, but they continue 24.9% below 2019.
Attention is focused on the evolution of consumption, directly related to family purchasing power.
With this framework of expectations, Argentine footwear manufacturers are projecting their future, for which their participation in fairs becomes essential, with a view to recovering and expanding sales in the local and regional market.
For this reason, and based on the increased request for stands for the next edition, the EFICA organizers decided to incorporate a new pavilion at the Costa Salguero, Buenos Aires, in order to offer more space for exhibitors and visitors.
Another important aspect was the expansion of the capacity to 70% of the total capacity of the visiting public, which will have an impact on a greater attendance at the event.
However, the fair organization, together with health authorities, will implement a protocol in the entire venue that will guarantee the health and safety of the attendees.
The next edition of EFICA -Argentine Footwear International Fair- will take place on Sunday 9, Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 January 2022 in Costa Salguero, Buenos Aires.
The exhibited collections will be for the Autumn-Winter 2022 season.
