During November 28th, 29th and 30th, the 109th edition of EFICA, took place at the Costa Salguero Exhibition Center in Buenos Aires, where recognized footwear industries from the country gathered.
The organization of the event was in charge of the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of Buenos Aires -CIC-.
There were 62 brands occupying 168 stands within the 4,300 m2 Pavilion 5. The list of exhibitors was complemented by the presence of 14 promotional stands from various entities and the press.
During the days of the event, the prevailing political and economic situation in the country, given the assumption of the new government, played a determining role in the results of the exhibition. The existing instability and uncertainty made it difficult to set footwear prices within a highly inflationary period, with volatile costs and prices.
On the part of the traders, there was maximum caution in purchases, with only test transactions being carried out to start the season, awaiting the evolution of the economic situation to place subsequent orders.
Thus, the overall results were diverse, with some exhibitors satisfied and others not so much, within a limited attendance, due to the aforementioned reasons.
The general consensus among participants mentioned the need for time and patience until the necessary political and economic decisions are made, providing clear and precise references to resume normality throughout the production chain.
