EXICAL in Córdoba brought together manufacturers and buyers from all over the country
The Footwear Exhibition of the Central Region was held between February 11th and 13th, at the Forja, Predio Ferial Córdoba exhibition center. The venue contributed for the event to take place in a renewed environment, with the incorporation of technology in the accreditation area and a comfortable aesthetic throughout its infrastructure.
In this edition, 135 exhibiting footwear companies presented the collections for the Autumn/Winter 2023 season, joined by 30 leather goods manufacturers, suppliers of related industries and companies linked to services and the press.
Visitors who were part of EXICAL, were able to see the proposals in footwear from different lines, handbags and accessories made of various materials, including leather, textiles, synthetics and other alternatives. In turn, technological solutions and supplies for the sector were exhibited, thus forming a varied exhibition offer in relation to quality, design and prices.
This multiplicity of options, in addition to other factors such as the diversity of prices and the commercial conditions of each exhibitor, has made it difficult to make a generalized final evaluation in terms of sales results, according to what was reported by the fair organization.
This situation was complemented by other contextual aspects, including new retail consumption habits, lack of stability and clarity in macroeconomic rules, and market uncertainty as a result of high inflation.
EXICAL was the venue for meetings between members of the Argentine Federation of the Footwear Industry (FAICA), through the three presidents of the chambers that comprise it: Miguel Hames from Córdoba, Alberto Sellaro from Buenos Aires and Fabrizio Procopio from Santa Fe.
For his part, Rubén Pallone -president of the Industrial Chamber of Leather Goods and Related (CIMA)- visited the fair, as well as regional representatives of the Union of Footwear Industry Workers (UTICRA).
At the government level, the exhibition was visited by Iván Piascik -Undersecretary of Industrial Strengthening- on behalf of the Ministry of Production, Science and Technology of Santa Fe.
Also attended by Pablo De Chiara -Minister of Science and Technology of the Province of Córdoba-; Fernando Sibilla -Secretary of Industry-; Elizabeth Bianchi -Secretary of Labor and Labor Relations; while Alicia Manso and Elba Giannasi participated as members of INTI Córdoba.
The exhibition was organized by the Chambers of the Footwear Industry of Santa Fe and Córdoba, sponsored by the Ministry of Production, Science and Technology of the province of Santa Fe and the Agency for the Promotion of Exports of the province of Córdoba - ProCórdoba.
The promoters of EXICAL announced that the second edition of the year will be held in the first half of July, where the trends for Spring/Summer 2023-2024 will be exhibited.
On the other hand, the digital platform will remain active throughout the season, including June 2023. EXICAL Digital is a tool that allows exhibitors to show their products and receive inquiries from national and international traders.
