The Italian fair will hold its second edition of the year from Saturday 15th to Tuesday 18th, June 2024, in Riva del Garda, on the shores of the homonymous lake, in the province of Trento, in the north of the country. Thus, EXPO RIVA SCHUH AND GARDABAGS will celebrate their 50th anniversary, which began with the January edition, also structured under the same motto: "Bringing trends together."
As announced by Riva del Garda Fierecongressi SpA -the event organizer-, the exhibition will not only be a space to learn about new trends in footwear, leather goods, and accessories, but there will also be parallel activities and events held in the fairgrounds and throughout the city to commemorate its history.
One such example is the Highlight Area inaugurated in January, which will continue in June in an enhanced manner and will be one more proposal in the overall schedule of the fair's activities by 2025, as confirmed by the exhibition director, GianPaola Pedretti.
In this sense, leather goods will be complemented by footwear, focusing on trends for the upcoming season. Additionally, it will be a space to access information related to the sector, provided by experts who will give talks and workshops.
Contacts will also be fostered through the Buyer Programme, a meeting point between supply and demand, as well as the Innovation Village Retail, where experienced and new actors will be part of a networking focused on innovative culture.
EXPO RIVA SCHUH AND GARDABAGS is characterized by being a high-profile international event, attracting exhibitors and visitors from various countries around the world.
To achieve this, they carry out the Around the World program with visits to markets of interest. In April, the initiative reached Portugal, a country that is increasingly prominent in the fair's editions.
Representatives of the fair were able to visit the São João de Madeira district and Felgueiras, which are of great importance to the footwear industry. Portuguese companies such as Ambitious, Ladrical, and Luis Onofre showed interest in participating in the upcoming June edition, out of a total of 30 firms.
In January, the fair featured around 1,300 exhibiting brands and companies, representing a 15% increase in participation compared to the same 2023 edition.
The audience present also stood out, with a total of 9,000 buyers. The challenging situation facing various markets influenced the lower attendance of French and German buyers, although there were positive results in the attendance of British, Italian, and Polish buyers.
The international profile of the event was demonstrated by the representation of 39 countries among the exhibitors, while visitors were 80% European and the remaining 20% from outside the continent.
Additionally, 115 buyers from 29 nations attended the fair for the first time, thanks to the joint work of the fair organization with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA).
