EXPO RIVA SCHUH: with 80% foreign exhibitors

The international footwear fair by volume was ratified as an important business point.

Between January 11 and 14, 2020, the 93rd EXPO RIVA SCHUH edition -aimed at the purchase and sale of footwear by volume- was held; while GARDABAGS celebrated its 4th version, with the leather goods exhibition. Both Italian fairs took place at the Riva del Garda Exhibition Center, where they occupied more than 33 thousand square meters of exhibition space, with the presentation of the Fall/Winter 2021 season.

Characteristics of exhibitors and visitors

With a profile marked by internationalization, digitalization and information, the fair managed to develop a high degree of loyalty among exhibiting companies, with 95% of firms that participated again. In this sense, 1,310 exhibitors were part of the footwear exhibition, while 78 firms formed the offer corresponding to GARDABAGS.

Foreign representatives accounted for 80% and 54% respectively in each event, among them from countries such as Portugal, Pakistan, China, Hong Kong, India, Spain, Brazil, Bulgaria, Turkey, United Kingdom and Italy, gathered in about 20 associations, collectives and groups.

According to the Fairs Unit manager of the Riva del Garda Fierecongressi -Carla Costa-, the most representative countries were China (398 exhibiting firms), Italy (302) and India (112).

Thus, the event maintained its stability, although the slight increase in the average value of the products was highlighted, which ranged between € 16 and € 30.

For its part, among the concurrence, in addition to the usual buyers from different continents, several delegations participated, invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Trade Agency, together with the Center for Studies of both fairs. Among them, the representatives of Ukraine, Croatia, Russia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Romania, Sweden, Colombia and Peru stood out. In addition, Carla Costa confirmed the visit of large distribution chains, that is, with a volume greater than 50 stores.


Training proposals

Both events developed a programming of dissertations that addressed various aspects of the sector. Among the themes, were included sustainability; innovation and tradition in the production chain; stock management; Kazakhstan and ecological fashion and others. In this sense, the talks were approved by visitors and exhibitors.

Next edition

Between Saturday 13, Sunday 14, Monday 15 and Tuesday 16, June 2020, it will be the next date of celebration of EXPO RIVA SCHUH and GARDABAGS.
