EXPOCAIPIC: More visitors and debut of Brazilian exhibitors

Attendees showed strong interest in new proposals for materials, components, and technology.

There was intense activity at the stands as visitors explored the new trends for Spring-Summer 2025/26.
From May 13 to 15, the 73rd edition of EXPOCAIPIC took place at Costa Salguero in Buenos Aires. The traditional trade fair brought together Argentine suppliers of leather, synthetic and textile materials, soles and bottoms, chemicals, accessories, technology, and services for the footwear and leather goods industries.
Historically reserved for Argentine suppliers or local representatives of international companies, this edition marked a significant shift: for the first time, Brazilian exhibitors participated formally under the umbrella of ASSINTECAL, the Brazilian Association of Footwear and Leather Goods Suppliers.

Some CAIPIC members —organizers of the event— expressed concerns about this change in policy, arguing that such a decision required further analysis and broader consensus within the organization.
This new scenario has sparked a debate about the rules and characteristics of future editions.

A spirit of resilience

Despite the challenging period facing Argentina’s footwear industry —due to lower consumption and rising competition from imports— EXPOCAIPIC attendees demonstrated a positive and proactive attitude. They showed strong interest in the innovations presented at the various stands, resulting in continuous activity and exchange of ideas between exhibitors and visitors.

Most participants agreed that the event had good attendance over its three days. According to the organizers, more than 1,500 professionals visited the show. The event’s positive outcome was reinforced by the enthusiastic applause that marked its closing.

Highlights of the offer

The most prominent categories included leather, soles, and bottoms, showcasing new trends for Spring-Summer footwear. These were followed by synthetic materials, inputs, and raw materials. The technology section featured locally made and imported machinery for various stages of production. The accessories area displayed a wide range of hardware, ornaments, and trimmings.
After visiting all areas of the fair, attendees were able to gain a comprehensive view of the key trends for the upcoming Spring-Summer 2025/26 season.
