Market map

Peru's footwear industry has an annual production closing to 58 million pairs, its main producing areas being Lima and nearby, plus Trujillo and the entire department of La Libertad.

As an open market, Peru receives approximately 45 million import pairs per year, which competes strongly with the local industry. In this aspect, most of the local manufacturers, orient their productions to the segments of average consumption, trying to differentiate themselves by fashion and be competitive through a greater flexibility of delivery that the imported ones.

In general consumption there is a predominance of large international brands, with products manufactured in Asia, which serve the medium and high segments.

Another peculiarity of the Peruvian industry is its atomization. The majority are many and small factories, together with specific medium and large companies that work on an industrial scale. Some of them have their own commercial structure.

For now, the Peruvian macroeconomics maintains a positive development, where for this year a growth of close to 3% is forecast, despite pending political and economic reforms.

Offer characteristics

In addition to local suppliers of soles, materials, components and chemical products of own production, there were many national exhibitors who are representatives of recognized international suppliers, as in the case of machinery.

Highlighting manufacturers of soles, tanneries and accessories.

The Chinese delegation was very expressive, composed of numerous producers of synthetic materials, uppers, components and various accessories, together with manufacturers of machines of the same origin. In this area, were exhibited injectors machines in operation, which processed soles and shoes in thermoplastics.
