FIMEC, the International Fair of Leather, Materials, Chemicals, Components, Machines, and Equipment for Footwear and Tanneries, will hold its 48th edition from March 18 to 20, 2025, at the Fenac pavilions in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil. Under the theme "Where sustainability, business, and relationships meet," the event will focus on solutions across the entire supply chain, from manufacturing to logistics.
The fair is expected to feature 400 exhibitors, attract 20,000 visitors, and exceed 10,000 square meters of exhibition space. According to Márcio Jung, CEO of Fenac, attendees from 20 Brazilian states and over 30 countries are anticipated, as reported by the event organizers.
One of the fair’s main attractions will be the Concept Factory, covering an area of 1,600 square meters. This project will showcase five production lines for women’s, children’s, and safety footwear, as well as handbags. More than 80 suppliers of components, supplies, logistics systems, and machinery manufacturers will participate. During the fair, 2,500 pairs of footwear will be produced in real-time, with the collaboration of approximately 80 students from the National Industrial Training Service (SENAI) and 60 workers.
The CICB Sustainability Forum will take place on March 19 in the afternoon. The event will cover critical topics related to the leather supply chain, bringing together experts, clients, and suppliers in a dedicated space for knowledge exchange and learning.
Márcio Jung emphasized that the collaboration between FIMEC and CICB (Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry) will facilitate a strategic dialogue among industry players and help advance the sustainability agenda.
Brazil's high level of innovation in materials, components, and technology, along with the presence of renowned international brands, has significantly increased the event's value and appeal. FIMEC has become the leading reference event for the Latin American and global sector, attracting a massive turnout.
