FUTURMODA, the leading international fair for leather, components, and machinery for footwear and leather goods, celebrates its 51st edition on March 13th and 14th at Pavilion 2 of IFA-Fira Alacant. The fair will bring together 230 exhibitors and 326 represented firms on an exhibition area of 12,500 square meters.
With an exhibition offer of 70% national and 30% international, the event consolidates itself as an essential meeting point for professionals in the sector from across Europe, North Africa, South America, and beyond, including Germany, Algeria, Argentina, and Türkiye, among others. This edition promises to maintain the level of professional visitors from previous years, thanks to significant collaborative efforts, such as the support of IVACE Internacional, which has expanded the fair's promotion to key markets through its offices in Poland, Vietnam, France, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
Sustainability and eco-design are indisputable protagonists in this edition, with 30% of exhibiting companies participating in the Futurmoda Green Planet space, presenting innovative and environmentally responsible solutions. The exhibition offer stands out for its diversity, including leather, components, textiles, machinery, and more, offering visitors an exclusive preview of the trends for the Spring-Summer 2025 season.
This year, the machinery section plays a crucial role, with 28 firms occupying nearly 1,500m² of exhibition space, showcasing the latest innovations in technology applied to the footwear sector, including robotics, 3D printing, and artificial intelligence, aligning with the demands of Industry 5.0.
The fair will also be a space for learning and debate, thanks to its conference program within the Experts Forum, addressing cutting-edge topics such as automation, eco-design, and sustainability, among others. This edition will have the support of the Valencian Government, IVACE, and the municipalities of Elche and Elda, demonstrating the community's commitment to the future of the footwear sector.
As a novelty, the organizers announced the launch of the FUTURMODA carbon footprint calculation project. The goal is to make it the first international fair to comply with environmental regulatory standards, aiming to generate zero CO2 emissions in the 2024-25 biennium.
