The 5th edition of GALLERY SHOES - International Footwear and Accessories Fair - was held in the city of Düsseldorf, Germany. The sample had a participation close to 600 brands, represented by 400 exhibitors, with 65% of international profile.
With a moderate start with respect to visitors, the fair finished with a stable activity, as determined by the Project Director and Managing Director of Igedo Company - Ulrike Kähler-. The largest number of visitors were from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Finland, Denmark, Sweden and the Benelux countries, among others.
In addition, 80 exhibitors from Spain were part of the sample thanks to the joint work with the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE). The support of entities in the sector was also generated at the local level, both from the Federal Association of German Retail Trade in Footwear (BDSE) and the German Federal Association of the Footwear and Leather Goods Industry (HDS / L). They referred to the fair as a primary space for retailers in terms of contextualization, with relevant brands and all categories.
Besides products exhibitions, from the event organization offered various proposals related to the sector. Among the novelties for this edition, the “Fashion Lifestyle-Show” was presented for the first time, a show combined of clothing and footwear by MARC CAIN, ECOALF, CINQUE and SHEME SHOES. The total look proposed by the firms corresponded to the Spring / Summer 2020 season.
On the other hand, the “Gallery SHOES Selected Show” was another of the exhibition innovations. In this parade, the products were part of what was exhibited by exhibiting firms present in the Contemporary, Premium, Urban and Comfort categories.
Various talks about trends for Spring / Summer 2020 and the best season products, while an approach was also made to the next Fall / Winter 2020-2021.
The context of the industry and commerce of the sector were exposed by the German Federal Association of Footwear and Leathergoods Industry and the Federal Association of German Retail Trade in Footwear.
