The Colombian fair will take place at Corferias from Wednesday, July 17th, to Friday, July 19th, 2024, as reported by the organizing entity -the Colombian Association of Footwear, Leather, and its Manufactured Goods Industrialists (ACICAM)-.
IFLS (Footwear and Manufactured Goods) will celebrate its 48th edition, while EICI (Suppliers) will reach its 30th version. On this occasion, trends for the Spring/Summer 2025 season will be presented.
The layout of IFLS is segmented into various categories, including formal, contemporary, urban, industrial, and children's footwear, as well as leather goods; while EICI will showcase leather, synthetics, textiles, components, and machinery.
The event was considered very positive by the fair organization, understanding that it has consolidated as the main exhibition of the sector in the country.
"During this fair, a climate of satisfaction was perceived among exhibitors and attendees. The recorded data exceeded expectations, confirming that we are making very firm progress, working for the leather, footwear, and leather goods sector," summarized Germán González, Executive President of ACICAM.
A total of 543 exhibitors presented their products, with local companies prevailing, accompanied by 30 foreign companies from countries such as Mexico (with a delegation from APIMEX), Brazil (mostly gathered in ASSINTECAL), Spain, Italy, and Türkiye.
At the national level, the department of Norte de Santander marked its presence with 39 exhibitors and another 106 who are part of CORPOINCAL. The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce brought together 20 companies, while the Sucre Governor's Office added 20 more participants to the fair.
The Restrepo sector contributed 50 exhibitors, thanks to the Productive Heart program of the Secretariat of Economic Development of Bogotá.
The attendance was 12,012 visitors, mainly Colombians. International buyers numbered 658, representing Mexico, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Uruguay, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Jamaica, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the United States, and Canada.
In total, business deals closed at USD 10.5 million, thus exceeding the expectations, according to ACICAM.
