Due to the floods, INSPIRAMAIS dates are doubled
The 30th edition of INSPIRAMAIS, originally scheduled for July 9-10, 2024, has modified its dates and locations.
The fair organizers announced this change due to the floods in southern Brazil in May. The climate disaster caused significant damage to the footwear industry in Rio Grande do Sul.
Specifically for INSPIRAMAIS, the event faced serious difficulties as the FIERGS exhibition center in Porto Alegre is among the affected areas. Additionally, accessibility is compromised due to the inoperability of Porto Alegre International Airport until September.
This edition will now be split into two dates and locations. Initially, it will be held on Tuesday 23rd, and Wednesday 24th, July. The chosen venue is the FACCAT Events Center in the municipality of Taquara, Rio Grande do Sul.
The exhibition of materials, components, and accessories will be complemented by the Preview do Couro and Conexão INSPIRAMAIS areas and conferences on market and fashion trends.
"The fashion industry in Rio Grande do Sul, which was affected, also understands that it is necessary to keep the wheel turning to preserve businesses and jobs," said Silvana Dilly, superintendent of the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (ASSINTECAL).
Continuing with the schedule, the fair will arrive in São Paulo a week later. It will be held on Tuesday 30th, and Wednesday 31st, July, at the Casa Petra event center.
This event will also include the presentation of materials and products, along with the Preview do Couro and Conexão INSPIRAMAIS areas. Additionally, the fair will incorporate business rounds, creating a meeting point for suppliers and national and international buyers. International journalists will also be present to cover the event and its offerings.
According to Dilly, "International buyers and journalists were already confirmed and were redirected to the event in São Paulo due to logistical conditions. The export agenda is essential for our sector, and that is why we made every effort to maintain the projects."
The Brazilian supplier event is the launch platform for a wide range of materials, components, and accessories for the footwear, leather, costume jewelry, and furniture sectors. The exhibition activity is complemented by conferences and a set of parallel projects focused on innovative materials, sustainability, leather, and commercial relations.
In July, the exhibition will be held under the concept of Peripherals, proposed by the Center for Design and Research. The theme will highlight the "Global South" and its creations.
