Due to the climatic events in Rio Grande do Sul, which caused serious floods last May with significant human and material losses in the region, ASSINTECAL -the Brazilian association of suppliers- the promoter of the event, decided to reschedule its original edition, which was supposed to take place in Porto Alegre.
With the purpose of continuing to serve manufacturers, industrialists, and professionals in the sector, the organization set two alternative dates: July 23-24 in Taquara/RS (44 km east of Novo Hamburgo/RS), and July 30-31 in São Paulo.
Both events were successfully held, confirming their value as a fashion reference for the footwear, leather goods, clothing, furniture, and general manufactures goods industries. This qualification was endorsed by the attendance of a significant number of visitors and exhibitors, who aimed to overcome the challenges and consolidate the exhibition as the most relevant forum for fashion and trends.
The event took place at the FACCAT events center in Taquara/RS on July 23-24. With the participation of 46 exhibiting suppliers, mostly from Rio Grande do Sul, innovative and sustainable materials were showcased for the entire range of manufacturing industries. Additionally, topics related to sustainability, innovation, and fashion were addressed during the program.
Silvana Dilly, superintendent of ASSINTECAL, noted that the event demonstrated the strength "of one of the strongest fashion systems in the world." She added that despite the difficulties, "we managed to maintain our DNA, combining business and quality information."
Gerson Berwanger, president of the organization, expressed gratitude for the support of exhibitors and SEBRAE -the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service- a sponsor of the event.
The highlight of the event was the exhibition by stylist and coordinator of the Design and Research Nucleus of ASSINTECAL, Walter Rodrigues, who detailed the evolution of trends in the showcased materials.
The event was held at the Casa Petra events space in São Paulo. 80 exhibitors were present, welcoming national buyers from all production hubs in Brazil, and 15 groups of importers from seven countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, India, Mexico, and Peru. Over 330 business meetings were held between Brazilian companies and importers, resulting in onsite and projected sales of over US$ 6 million.
At the Design and Fashion Salon -INSPIRAMAIS- new launches in leather, materials, components, and accessories for the footwear and manufactured goods industries were presented, with participation from CICB -Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry- ABIT -Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association- and ABIMOVEL -Furniture Industries-.
According to organizers, due to the success of the event, the decision was made to return to São Paulo annually.
