Positive debut of INSPIRAMAIS in Porto Alegre
With the focus on sustainability, between January 25th and 26th, INSPIRAMAIS carried out its 25th edition at the FIERGS fairgrounds. The exhibition was held for the first time in Porto Alegre/RS, located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, one of the most important producing hubs in Brazil.
In two days, care for the environment and innovation were represented through an offer of more than a thousand materials for the footwear, clothing and furniture industries.
Gerson Berwanger -president of the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (ASSINTECAL)-, said there was concern about whether the market recovery was actually developing. However, the Brazilian supply fair showed the ability to attract visitors focused on generating business and with a qualified profile.
At an economic level, the International Buyer Project reached deals that exceeded US$7.5 million, at the time and in the future. This, thanks to the participation of more than 50 representatives from Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, El Salvador, Guatemala, Spain, Italy, Portugal and India.

The program was supported by By Brasil Components, Machinery and Chemicals, a joint initiative between the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX-BRASIL) and ASSINTECAL.
In this sense, Luiz Ribas Júnior -International Market Manager of the entity that brings together suppliers- assured: "There was already a prior assessment that it would be a very important edition for the foreign market, especially due to the increase in demand in the main footwear manufacturing countries, including Brazil, and the increase in freight costs from Asia, which has inhibited imports of components from China”.
The Sustainability Space was the novelty of this edition, where 23 exhibiting companies presented ecological products, as reported by ASSINTECAL.
In turn, the research organized by Walter Rodrigues at the Assintecal Design Center was exhibited through materials in INSPIRAMAIS Connection.
Some 15 tanneries, meanwhile, showed the latest trends in Leather Preview; while Creative and Commercial Connection included more than 20 micro and small firms with innovative proposals.
The program was completed with more than 10 conferences with innovation and sustainability as the main themes.
Between Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th July, INSPIRAMAIS will hold its 26th edition, at FIERGS. The Earth theme will be the main idea of the next version, as detailed by Walter Rodrigues.
The concept is linked to a planet in the process of being restored after the pandemic period, with biomimetics as the primary topic, that is, the generation of solutions from the study of nature.
"We need to forge processes and projects from nature into healthier designs and industries, creating harmony with nature through the production of materials that have less impact on the ecosystem," assured Rodrigues.
