As part of the slogan #finallytogether, which brought together various Italian fairs in the sector, LINEAPELLE held its 100th edition between September 20th and 22nd, at the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition centre.
The largest turnout at the events was due to the fact that they were held simultaneously and contiguous, and in the same place, which allowed visitors access to comprehensive knowledge of all the links in the manufacturing chain. The synergy between the fairs was essential. LINEAPELLE presented materials, components and accessories; MICAM, finished footwear; MIPEL, leather goods; HOMI, fashion apparel and accessories; and SIMAC-TANNING TECH, technologies for the footwear, tanneries and manufactures industry.
In LINEAPELLE, 1,134 exhibitors participated in 6 pavilions, with the presentation of skins and leather, synthetics and fabrics, materials, components and accessories corresponding to the Winter 2023-2024 season.
The result for the participants was tranquility and satisfaction with the return of visitors, after the pandemic period, and the confirmation of the progressive normalization of activities in this important industrial sector.
The perception that LINEAPELLE overcame the health crisis was ratified, determined by the 32% increase in attendance compared to February 2022. In turn, the records highlighted the presence of younger, more competent visitors with greater motivation and professionalism.
The international profile of the event was made visible with the presence of representatives from 109 countries, highlighting among them India, Turkey, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain and Mexico, in addition to the most relevant European markets. The absence of Chinese visitors was notable. In total, foreign attendance had a 73% growth.
"It was a reassuring outcome for the entire supply chain", according to Gianni Russo -president of LINEAPELLE-, "especially since the economic situation in which we are operating creates enormous worries and problems, starting with the exponential increases in energy costs, which are beyond the control of operators".
The trends for Autumn/Winter 2023-2024 were exhibited in the various Trend Areas and throughout the Metaverse, under the Mondi Possibili concept.
In addition, the Italian leather goods outsourcing center held its third edition, where 13 firms took part. Mipel Lab was a space for networking, business and debates, as declared by the president of ASSOPELLETTIERI -Franco Gabbrielli-, thanks to the alliance of this entity with LINEAPELLE.
The talks focused on different aspects of sustainability were included in the Green Theater, among other activities integrated into the exhibition offer.
The fair will celebrate the first version of 2023, between Tuesday 21st, Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd February at Fiera Milano Rho, with the proposals for Summer 2024.
