The Italian supply fair for the fashion industry, took place between February 21st and 23rd, 2023 at the Fieramilano Rho exhibition center in Milan. In it, leather and skins, synthetic and textile materials, components and accessories and various services for the footwear, clothing and manufactured goods sector were exhibited. The event shared days and place with other related fairs: MICAM for footwear; MIPEL for leather goods and accessories; TheOneMilano of apparel; and HOMI Fashion and Jewels, accessories, clothing and jewelry.
The 101st edition of LINEAPELLE was held under the slogan "Make tomorrow bloom", in which the proposals and innovations in materials, components and accessories for the Summer 2024 season were presented.
Throughout the three days of the fair, very satisfactory results were recorded; at the same time that the internationalization of the event was equated to pre-pandemic levels, according to what was reported by its organizers.
The numbers confirmed this: 1,161 exhibitors from 42 countries participated, 38.3% of that total represented various origins. The Italian presence was predominant, representing 61.7% of the exhibiting companies.
According to the exhibitor catalogue, Latin American companies from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico were also present.
Referring to the sector, Luiz Ribas Júnior -International Market Manager of the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (ASSINTECAL), stated: "The footwear industry in Europe, despite inflation, has been growing and assuming an increasingly important role for Brazilian suppliers, especially in view of the negotiations established for the Mercosur-European Union free trade agreement”.
Regarding visitors, the attendance exceeded 24 thousand people, with an international profile that translated into 41% foreigners. Thus, buyers came to LINEAPELLE from Spain, Germany, Portugal, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, complemented by Turkish visitors.
The return of representatives from China, Korea and Japan was also highlighted, which brought calm and interest to the event, marking a return to indicators prior to the pandemic.
In summary, the visitor figures exceeded by 55% those reached in the February 2022 version; while they grew by 6% compared to September of that year.
Proposals for Winter 2024/2025 season will be on display between Tuesday 19th, Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st September 2023 at Fieramilano Rho, Milan, Italy.
