Organizers of both events that are part of the initiative #strongertogether announced the suspension of live events to be held in the fairground Fieramilano Rho Milan, between 20th to 24th March, 2021.
MICAM MILANO had been scheduled between March 21st and 23rd and LINEAPELLE, with its version of “A New Point of View” for the 23rd and 24th of the same month.
Currently, MICAM MILANO is launching its digital edition from March 8th to May 8th, 2021.
After the first edition in September 2020, which was attended by more than 2,500 international buyers who visited 154 brands and factories with more than 53,000 products, the next edition of MICAM MILANO DIGITAL SHOW will present the trends of the Autumn-Winter 21/22 season in high and mid-range footwear.
The decision is related to the ban imposed by the Italian government on the holding of events and fairs until March 5th.
In the context of a pandemic, health and travel restrictions made it difficult for international visitors to participate, therefore the organizers could not guarantee a safe and quality fair, after the date imposed by the government.
The B2B online tool promotes the realization of business, more contacts and brand development.
Buyers will be able to explore the collections with an easy-to-use tool, where they can connect with brands and manufacturers, as well as view their proposal catalogs and product data sheets.
Exhibitors can access the world community of MICAM MILANO by taking advantage of its promotional channels and inviting clients to the platform, where through digital management they will be able to personalize their products. The experience is totally geared to facilitate business.
For Siro Badon, president of MICAM and ASSOCALZATURIFICI, the national association of shoe manufacturers, “the situation continues to be difficult but we must try to take advantage of the opportunities. As MICAM, and in our role of association, we intend to continue to be at the side of footwear companies through MICAM MILANO DIGITAL SHOW. We are working on improving the content thanks to MICAM X and on making an easy-to-navigate platform, with a step-by-step guide for buyers and exhibitors. Surely the site will quickly become a virtual meeting place for the global footwear community ”.
"The pandemic has helped accelerate digitization and has updated the way of doing business in our industry, while we are aware that we cannot abandon the traditional physical fair because the contact, the in-person interaction between the buyer and the supplier is a vital aspect of our business. For this reason, we are already working on a new live edition of MICAM MILANO, to be held from September 19th to 21st, 2021. An event that has always represented with pride and vigor the best of Made-in-Italy, and that I am sure It will mark the beginning of a new era and a new beginning for the footwear industry around the world, ”said Siro Badon.
The traditional international exhibition of suppliers of hides, leathers, synthetics, textiles, supplies, components and accessories for the footwear and manufacturing industries created the new "365 SHOWROOM" contact and business platform, a virtual tool open throughout the year, tailored to the new scenario imposed by the global health crisis.
It brings together the usual LINEAPELLE exhibiting companies from Milan, New York and London.
In the site, visitors can meet the participants through videos and images, along with details of the collections and products. Each exhibitor's space will contain their contact details and company profiles, with links to their own sites.
The organization of the event affirms that for exhibitors "it is an opportunity to remain visible every day of the year and access an expanded market, due to the greater reach of digital media."
For buyers, it will be a valuable alternative to find a wide range of supply stores in one place, which in turn is a clear reference for fashion and trends for the coming seasons.
Intending to return to regular fair, the general management of LINEAPELLE has begun planning the upcoming edition during the days 22, 23 and 24 September 2021 at Fiera Milano Rho, next to MICAM, which will be exhibited the proposals for Winter 2022/23.
The improvement of global sanitary conditions is expected to allow the influx of exhibitors and visitors from different regions of the world.
