In February MICAM in Italy, with the largest footwear offer

International brands and manufacturers will exhibit, for buyers from all over the world.

The most popular event in the footwear sector, with a high international profile of exhibitors and visitors.

The Italian footwear fair with an international profile, will hold its 95th edition between Sunday 19th, Monday 20th, Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd February 2023, at the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition center in Milan.

In six pavilions of the fairgrounds, the collections corresponding to Autumn/Winter 2023-2024 will be exhibited, with a predominance of areas dedicated to contemporary, premium and everyday footwear, as reported by ASSOCALZATURIFICI - the entity that groups footwear manufacturers from Italy and is also the organizer of the event-.

In this edition, MICAM will take place over four days and in conjunction with MIPEL -focused on leather goods and fashion accessories-, and The OneMilano -clothing show-, in the first three days from 9:30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. and from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the last one.

The decision to extend the celebration of the fairs for one more day is the result of the successful last version and denotes the reactivation of these sectors.

For their part, visitors will also be able to access the proposals presented at LINEAPELLE, which will take place from 21st to 23rd February; while HOMI Fashion Jewels will take place between the 17th and 20th of that month.

In a climate of positivity, the organizers hope to capture the interest of a good number of traders from all over the world, thanks to the focus on the Italian fashion industry, as well as the participation of designers from abroad.

A new story

In February 2023, and within the framework of #micamtales, the fair will unveil the third and final fairy tale: "MICAM of OZ", inspired by the classic musical.

The story focuses on "the journey of a brave young woman, accompanied by two extravagant companions, towards the Emerald Castle, in a symbolic odyssey that aims to represent the industry's progress towards sustainability", according to what was detailed by the exhibition promoters.

“Poppy Flowers” will be the first chapter, which will take place in the next edition, “in which the heroine loses her puppy in a huge field of poppies. As she searches, she happens to come across a couture scarecrow and a couple of strange objects: an oil can and a hat... both made of tin!”, they add.

“This fairy tale is also a metaphor for life in the business world, made up of daily challenges, big and small, milestones to be reached. Now more than ever, it is difficult to be in business: you need to keep up to date all the time, with great determination and an ethical perspective on important issues such as sustainability”, according to what was stated by Giovanna Ceolini -president of MICAM and of the footwear entity-.

Activities of interest to the sector

A space for knowledge will be offered by the MICAM X area, focused on topics such as art, fashion, heritage and the future; trends and materials; the future of retail; and sustainability. There, workshops, presentations and various actions focused on innovation will be held.

Among other initiatives, the EMERGING DESIGNERS sector will also be present, with footwear designers from various countries around the world, who will exhibit their latest proposals.
