MICAM, LINEAPELLE and SIMAC TANNING TECH on hold

The most important sector fairs in Milan, Italy, await the evolution of the pandemic to define its mode of realization


The particular situation lived in Europe for the regrowth of Covid-19 has jeopardized again the normal development of the fairs.

While the completion of the February 2021 edition is being resolved, the international footwear fair launched from September 15th to December 1st, 2020, the DIGITAL SHOW, a virtual platform to complement the traditional exhibition offer of MICAM MILANO . Aims to expand business opportunities for exhibitors using new digital marketing tools and customer attendance, creating a common space to conduct business with buyers.

The initiative is the result of the strategic association between MICAM MILANO and the American company NuORDER, a leading e-Commerce platform in b2b buying and selling, being the only means of communication with sales support and after-sales services available to the footwear industry.

Thus, exhibitors can publish on the new platform product catalogs and access more than 500,000 international buyers.

LINEAPELLE, this time was A NEW POINT OF VIEW

Between 22nd and 23rd September 2020, the exhibition "A NEW POINT OF VIEW" was held in Fieramilano Rho, a creation of LINEAPELLE developed using a hybrid format, based on current biosecurity protocols.

The presentation of the Winter 2021-2022 season had the participation of 326 exhibitors in the live event fair, among them tanneries, manufacturers of components, accessories, synthetics and fabrics; technology services companies and chemical products.

On this occasion, the presentation was made under the slogan "The Era Of Simplifying 2 - Slow Is The New Hot", which aimed to achieve a balance between the contemporary and the classic. A concept that was structured in four different segments.

PRODUCTS EXHIBITED AT MICAM:

Interest in the online proposal

The virtual version - "Fair Physics in a digital world" - was attended by 30 countries and exceeded 120 thousand interactions in digital events via Facebook, Youtube, Linkedln and Instagram, according to reports from the organization.

Caddie, in turn, was the digital tool for on-demand and live transmissions, which enabled the interrelation of the exhibiting companies at the fair, with interested parties from Japan, China, South Korea, the United States and Brazil.

Digital programming also included the presentation of corporate videos, product and collections of exhibitors who took part in LINEAPELLE - A NEW POINT OF VIEW-; and the fashion proposals for Winter 2020-2021, among other activities.

365 SHOWROOMS initiative also offers a virtual exhibition for companies, available every day of the year, after completion of the live event.

Next edition

The traditional version of the International Exhibition of Leather, Components, Textiles, Synthetics and Accessories is scheduled for Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th and Friday 26th February of 2021 in Fieramilano Rho, with the presentation of the trends for Summer 2022.

In line with other planned exhibitions for February 2021 in Milan, the international exhibition of technology for footwear, manufactures and tanneries continues to the await of joint decisions, government and trade fair organization, to determine whether the date of 24th will be maintained at 26th February for the event. Everything will depend on the evolution of the health situation caused by Covid-19.

Referido a la feria, Gabriella Marchioni Bocca, presidenta de ASSOMAC, la asociación de fabricantes de máquinas que organiza el evento, dijo que “creemos firmemente en el papel proactivo que puede tener una feria internacional como SIMAC-TANNING TECH. Aunque el impacto de la pandemia fue fuerte, no nos desanimó, pero nos dio tiempo para trabajar -y estamos trabajando- para un relanzamiento a través de una experiencia de feria abierta y digital”.

La Secretaría Organizadora del evento está trabajando en una experiencia de feria que aproveche al máximo el potencial que ofrecen las actuales herramientas digitales, como posibilidades de encuentros y contactos, plataformas de intercambio de información e interacción en tiempo real entre visitantes y expositores.
