MICAM Milano concluded with strong international presence and prepares for its 100th edition

The international footwear fair brought together 853 brands from various origins, alongside Made in Italy proposals.

Visitors from 127 countries participated in MICAM Milano.

Between February 23 and 25, 2025, four specialized fashion accessory fairs took place at Fieramilano (Rho): MICAM Milano (footwear), MIPEL (leather goods and accessories), TheOne Milano (clothing), and Milano Fashion&Jewels (apparel, accessories and jewelry). These events served as a prelude to Milan Fashion Week, wrapping up with positive results.

This edition emphasized craftsmanship, combining manufacturing excellence with contemporary influences, incorporating sustainable production techniques and innovative materials.

Meanwhile, the simultaneous hosting of the fairs reinforced their role as drivers of business opportunities within the sector, despite the complex economic landscape both locally and internationally. In total, the four exhibitions gathered 1,758 brands, with 46% of them representing 51 countries.

Regarding attendance, 40,449 professional visitors toured the exhibition halls, including attendees from Spain, France, Germany, Türkiye, Greece, China, and Japan. In this context, international presence spanned 127 nations, accounting for 45% of the total turnout. These figures remained in line with the previous edition.

To this lineup of fashion trade fairs, LINEAPELLE was added from February 25 to 27 at the same venue, the largest international supplier event for the footwear and manufactured goods industry. The exhibition showcased leather and hides, synthetic and textile materials, along with components and accessories, providing a preview of upcoming trends.

In this way, visitors gained a comprehensive overview of the sector’s evolution across all links in the supply chain.

MICAM Milano reaffirmed its international profile

MICAM Milano’s 99th edition hosted 853 brands, including 415 Italian exhibitors and 438 from 28 different countries, according to organizers.

On this occasion, the fair once again served as a key meeting point for leading companies in the sector, bringing together both international firms and Italian manufacturers, who showcased their proposals with the unmistakable hallmark of Made in Italy.

"The year 2024 ended with a decline in exports (-8.4% in value) and revenue (-9.4%), along with a drop in production. However, forecasts indicate a gradual market improvement by the end of the year, with recovery prospects driven by the sector’s capacity for innovation and resilience," stated Giovanna Ceolini, president of MICAM and ASSOCALZATURIFICI (the organization representing Italian footwear manufacturers), referring to the state of the industry in the country.

In September, it will celebrate its 100th edition

The Italian footwear fair is gearing up for a major milestone: MICAM Milano’s 100th edition, scheduled from September 7 to 9, 2025, at Fieramilano (Rho), Milan.

With this objective, the organization has already begun developing new initiatives to strengthen the event’s identity and relevance. In the coming months, details will be announced about a new project aimed at reinforcing its role as a global platform for promoting high-quality and fashion-forward footwear.
