China will concentrate international footwear and manufactured goods trends

The 2025 MODA CHINA fair will take place in September in Shanghai, gathering participants from around the worl

Shanghai, China’s largest city and main financial hub, will host the fair for footwear and manufactured goods.

From September 3 to 5, the international event dedicated to footwear, manufactured goods, apparel and accessories will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, featuring the participation of leading Chinese, European and global brands. The importance of this event lies in offering both opportunities: to buy and to sell in Asia.

Simultaneously, and in the same venue, the ALL CHINA LEATHER EXHIBITION -ACLE- will be held, specializing in hides and skins, materials, chemicals, components and tannery technology, further expanding the range of exhibits. Both events are organized by the China Leather Industry Association -CLIA- and APLF Ltd.

Under the slogan “Leading Fashion Trends and Creating Brand Value”, the event is expected to gather around 400 brands from countries such as Italy, Spain, the United States, Brazil and China, and to welcome 50,000 specialized professional buyers, 4,000 of them international.

The exhibition will consist of 11 sectorized areas, covering a surface of 23,000 square meters, with the presence of leading Chinese consumer brands, genuine leather products, designers, international high-end brands, industrial clusters and sectoral entities.

The current market outlook

The instability of the global economy has brought unprecedented changes and challenges to this industry. The diversification and personalization of consumer demand are increasingly evident. This is reflected not only in the search for style and quality, but also in concern for social responsibilities, such as environmental protection and sustainability. Category competition in the industry has quietly shifted into brand competition. In this context, CLIA’s commitment is to build an international platform that connects national and international industrial and commercial chains, facilitating negotiations and cooperation among brands, with an effective exchange of information.

To promote business and fashion

Another important aspect will be the meetings and business roundtables between OEM companies, which produce items to customer requirements, and ODM companies, which design and produce items that customers need. This will boost supply and demand activity.

Various actions related to fashion and its dissemination will also be added, such as the Social Media Influencers Selection Festival and the launch of international trends in footwear and manufactured goods, regarding materials, colors and designs.

The 22nd UITIC Congress will also take place

Coinciding with the fair, the 22nd Congress of Footwear Industry Technicians will take place in Shanghai from August 31 to September 3, organized by UITIC (International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians) and CLIA, the Chinese association representing the leather and manufactured goods sector.

The theme of the event will be: “Footwear Competitiveness and Sustainable Development in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.” A highly interesting and high-profile proposal, with the participation of professionals, technicians, executives and entrepreneurs from all over the world, linked to the sector.
