SAPICA: The ultimate showcase for Mexican footwear
The traditional Mexican fair is set to take place from Tuesday to Thursday at the Poliforum León event center, organized by the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of the State of Guanajuato (CICEG). This edition marks the 50th anniversary of the Leather and Footwear Show, a space fostering business opportunities and networking in the sector while showcasing fashion, trends, innovation, and technology.
The exhibition also stands out as a commercial forum, focused on ensuring that brands produce experiences, value and innovation in their products, in an instance of evolution.
SAPICA first debuted in 1974 with a single annual edition, featuring 150 exhibitors from the industry.
Eight years later, it expanded to two editions per year, presenting Autumn/Winter proposals in the first edition and Spring/Summer in the second.
By the turn of the millennium, SAPICA gained global recognition, becoming the fourth most important fair in the footwear industry. In 2008, it introduced small businesses in the New Entrepreneurs Pavilion. It currently offers activities parallel to the exhibition offer of 400 brands, such as international conferences, high-fashion runway shows, and internationalization services through SHOES FROM MEXICO.
Today, it is defined as a fair that evolves and adapts technological innovation and local production, in addition to generating concepts about work ethics and sustainability. SAPICA is recognized as the largest event in the footwear sector on a national and international level.
