SIMAC-TANNING TECH: face-to-face attendance added interest in technology

The fair for suppliers of machinery and equipment for footwear, leather goods and tanneries gave positive signs of recovery.

Again the international technology fair opened its doors for local and foreign visitors.
After 20 long months of absence, the greatest technological event for the footwear, manufactures and tanning industries returned. The latest novelties and proposals from machine, equipment and system manufacturers, mostly Italian, were presented, accompanied by colleagues from other countries.

The exhibition took place between September 22nd and 24th, at the Milano Rho premises, with the presence of 200 exhibitors occupying an area of 9,000 m2 spread over 2 pavilions.

Through the fair's APP, 5,000 registrations were received from in-person and online buyers, of which a third were foreigners from 50 countries.

Foreign delegations from 11 countries were also present, made up of 65 operators, invited by the ITA -Italian Trade Agency-.
After consultations with different participants, the final results were considered very positive due to the good influx of visitors (in times of pandemic) and the good volume of business achieved.

The high qualification of the audience and their decision-making power were highlighted, given the necessary technological re-equipment after the interval imposed by the pandemic.

The date of realization on the same premises was also decisive, after MICAM and MIPEL (the footwear and leather goods events) and simultaneously with LINEAPELLE (of hides, leathers, materials and components), which contributed a particular synergy. During the week, visitors had the opportunity to access a comprehensive view of the entire sector chain.

The opening ceremony included the intervention of the president of SIMAC TANNING TECH and ASSOMAC (Italian Association of Manufacturers of Technologies for Footwear, Leather Goods and Tannery), Maria Vittoria Brustia; together with national and regional government authorities.

The leader thanked all the participating companies that, "despite the economic and social uncertainty, wanted to be present at this fair, to reiterate that we are leaders in this sector not only because of the tradition that distinguishes us, but also because of the capacity to continually find innovative solutions for the industry”.

In his turn, the Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Manlio Di Stefano said “we firmly believe in the role of the Italian fair system as a promoter of the relaunch of the economy and exports. For this reason, we have supported and believed in the return to face-to-face fairs as of June 15th and, thanks to an intense coordination activity with the Ministry of Health, we have promoted measures to facilitate access to the national territory for foreign trade fair operators and thus preserve the international character of the events”.
