The International Footwear Congress postponed to 2022

Given the uncertainty about the evolution of the health emergency, they decided to move it to next year.

The maximum event of world-wide character that gathers the international footwear sector was postponed for a better moment.

UITIC, the International Union of Footwear Industry Technicians reported that the 21st edition of the International Footwear Congress that had initially been scheduled for 2021 in China has been postponed to 2022.

The decision was made jointly by the organizing entity UITIC and CLIA, the Chinese Chamber of Leather and Manufactures, given the persistence of the pandemic.

The press release states that "China has almost returned to normal, however organizing an international event in 2021 can be difficult due to the remaining impact of Covid-19, especially due to the necessary travels and logistics activities".

“It is true that a long time has passed since the XX Congress, held in Portugal in 2018, but the current situation forces us to have a prudent and responsible approach to its organization”, declared Yves Morin, president of UITIC.

This congress regularly brings together experts and decision makers who play an important role in the global footwear business, such as brands, distributors and footwear manufacturers.
