Another source confirms the sector fall
The Monthly Industrial Survey carried out nationwide to 300 SME industries, recorded falls in the production of FOOTWEAR and LEATHER. In this report, in July the contraction was 44.5%, in relation to the same month of 2019, as detailed by the Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprises (CAME), an entity that warned about the closure of various production units for a few weeks , given the decrease in government aid (ATP) and demand.
For its part, the month of August showed a contraction of 38.1% over the same period last year. The aforementioned sectors were marked by significant idle capacity and the cessation of activities of manufacturing plants.
To close the results of the third quarter of 2020, the negative change in September was 36.7%, because it is not an essential item for consumers, according to the statement by CAME.
