At the beginning of the new government's term, the footwear manufacturing company, BICONTINENTAR FOOTWEAR TECHNOLOGIES, was affected by a shortage of materials for producing products for brands such as Under Armour, New Balance, Le Coq Sportif, Diadora, Hush Puppies, Montagne, Ringo, Olympikus, and Athix.
In response to this situation, 100 workers were offered voluntary retirement, and it was decided that the factory would remain inactive until February, in the hope that the supply of raw materials could normalize by that time.
The company, based in Chivilcoy (Buenos Aires), experienced order cancellations in early December due to difficulties in international payments and the licensing system for imports.
For 2024, expectations point to reduced activity, as reported by the company.
