Brazilian exports to Argentina decline


In the entirety of 2023, Argentina purchased 12% fewer Brazilian footwear compared to 2022.

In 2023, the Argentine market imported 14 million pairs of shoes from Brazil, valued at US$ 223.8 million. These results represented a contraction of 11.8% in quantity and an increase of 24.8% in terms of business value, compared to the same period in 2022.

Despite the mixed indicators, Argentina remains the second-largest recipient of Brazilian footwear in terms of value, as reported by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (ABICALÇADOS), based on SECEX data.

Additionally, the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) detailed the sale of 679,129 square meters of hides and skins, amounting to US$ 9.5 million. In this regard, the exported surface area saw a decrease of 24.6%, while the value dropped by 13.7%, according to SECEX data compiled by CICB.
