On the occasion, the company stated its intention to install a new factory in the north of the country with the capacity to produce 3 million pairs per year, with which it plans to supply the local market and generate an exportable balance to the region.

At the meeting, the formation of the work teams was agreed to advance together with the investment process and location of the new footwear plant in Argentina.

“It is great news that for the first time in history this company has made the decision to invest outside of Brazil and has chosen Argentina to expand its footwear production. This means more investment, more production, less imports and more employment in the country”, said Minister Kulfas.

For his part, Ariel Schale, Argentine Secretary of Industry said that “BEIRA RIO's decision to advance with a productive investment in Argentina is very important for the development of the footwear sector.
