Complex situation for footwear industry in Santa Fe
Alberto Serra, manager of the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of Santa Fe, reported that decreased consumption has negatively impacted around sixty companies. Sales have dropped between 40% and 70%, affecting industries of all sizes, primarily focused on the domestic market.
Serra stated that the decline in consumption affects both national and imported products equally. Regarding the opening of imports, the industry remains cautious about developments for the upcoming summer season.
On the other hand, Rosario, Acebal, and Arroyo Seco have reported a decrease in employment of around 20% of the workforce, according to the leader.
